If the thought of a dental appointment makes you tense, you’re far from alone. Anxiety often comes from a past experience, a fear of pain or simply not knowing what’s about to happen. The good news is that small changes can make a real difference.
Tell us early
Let us know when you book. We can schedule a longer appointment, start with a simple conversation instead of treatment, and explain each step before we do it.
Agree a stop signal
Raising a hand to pause is simple but powerful. Knowing you’re in control of the pace makes many patients feel noticeably calmer.
Comfort options
Numbing gel before injections, headphones with your own music, a blanket and regular breaks are all available on request. For more involved treatment, we can discuss sedation options with you.
