A professional clean removes the hardened plaque (tartar) that brushing can’t reach, then polishes away surface stains. We pair every clean with a full gum health check, so small problems are caught while they’re still simple to fix.
What to expect
Your hygienist measures gum pockets, scales above and below the gumline with an ultrasonic scaler, then polishes and flosses. Most patients find it comfortable; numbing gel is available if your gums are sensitive.
How often
Every six months suits most people. If you have gum disease, diabetes or wear braces, we may suggest a shorter interval and will explain why.
