A better brushing routine in five minutes a day

You don't need a complicated routine, just the right technique done consistently. Here's what we recommend.

Most dental problems are prevented at home, not in the chair. A good routine takes about five minutes a day, and consistency matters far more than any particular product.

Brushing

Brush twice a day for two minutes with a fluoride toothpaste. Angle the bristles towards the gumline and use gentle circles rather than hard scrubbing. Spit, don’t rinse, so the fluoride keeps working.

Between the teeth

A toothbrush can’t reach between teeth. Clean those gaps once a day with floss or interdental brushes; we can show you the right size for your mouth.

Small habits that help

Replace your brush or brush head every three months, or sooner if the bristles splay. If you’ve had something acidic like fruit juice, wait a little while before brushing to protect softened enamel.
