Clear aligners vs braces: which suits you?

Both straighten teeth well. The better choice depends on how your teeth need to move, and how you live day to day.

Clear aligners and fixed braces can both give you a straighter, healthier bite. Neither is simply ‘better’. The right option comes down to the movements your teeth need and the routine you can realistically keep.

How clear aligners work

Aligners are a series of thin, removable trays, each nudging your teeth a little further. They’re nearly invisible and come out for eating and brushing, but they only work while they’re in: most plans need them worn for around 20 to 22 hours a day.

When fixed braces make more sense

Braces stay on your teeth, so there’s nothing to remember. They’re often the better choice for complex rotations, large bite corrections or patients who know they’d struggle to wear aligners consistently.

Planning your treatment

We start with a 3D scan and show you a digital preview of the expected result for each option. Whichever you choose, treatment ends with retainers to keep your new smile stable.
